A special Lotus Sutra evening was held with Dr. Gene Reeves at Rissho Kosei-kai International of North America (The Buddhist Center - RKINA) in Irvine, June 9, 2009.

Dr. Gene Reeves is a Buddhist scholar who now serves as the special minister for the International Buddhist Congregation of Rissho Kosei-kai in Tokyo.　He has recently published The Lotus Sutra: A Contemporary Translation of a Buddhist Classic from Wisdom Publications.

Before moving to Japan in 1989, Dr. Reeves was the head of Meadville Lombard Theological School and professorial lecturer in the Divinity School of the University of Chicago.
