Statement by the Rissho Kosei-kai International Community
All conflicts and wars that continue across the world must come to an end. We aspire to create a world in which our shared humanity is respected, the dignity of every person is protected, every life is revered, and the safety of all living beings is ensured.
We, the Rissho Kosei-Kai International Community, share the common values of the teachings of Buddhism - especially those of the Lotus Sutra.
We abandon the selfish desire that seeks happiness and prosperity only for oneself or for one's own country, so that all people and all nations may share in a truly peaceful and prosperous world.
As the Buddha taught, "In this world, hatred is never appeased by hatred, only by abandoning hatred does it cease. This is the eternal truth ".
We pray together for everyone to cast aside all selfishness and anger in all of us and to strive toward the creation of a world that transcends resentment and hatred, transforms all adversities into opportunities for our collective growth, and shares with all people both the wisdom and a way of life revering others.
